About this event
Mobile filmmaking comes to the big screen in Casablanca
On Thursday 19 November 2026, the fourth Moroccan Short Mobile Film Contest (MMFC) culminates in its annual public awards celebration. Organised by the Patrimoine Image Association, the competition focuses on films made entirely with smartphones and running no longer than three minutes, across fiction, documentary and vertical film categories.
Short-film showcase and awards
The ceremony is intended to introduce mobile filmmaking talent, show work on the big screen and celebrate winners. The 2026 jury comprises filmmaker Nour-Eddine Lakhmari, actress Sonia Okacha, filmmaker Mohcine Nadifi and documentary creator Amine Aouni. Entries close on 5 November, followed by jury deliberations on 7 November. The final films and winners have not yet been announced; no archive titles are listed as part of the confirmed 2026 selection.
Venue clarification
The competition homepage and 15 October media coverage list Théâtre Hassan on Route d'El Jadida in Casablanca. However, the dedicated ceremony page still says its venue and running order require confirmation. Therefore the 19 November date is confirmed, but the theatre remains an announced rather than definitively confirmed site. The time, audience booking process and admission price have not been published.
Important distinction
The submission form is only for filmmakers entering the competition and is not an audience ticket platform. Check mmfc.ma for any updated ceremony arrangements before travelling.
