Cultural context

How to use this guide

A scene spread across several kinds of spaces

Contemporary art does not sit in one institutional category. Museums and foundations coexist with commercial galleries, independent spaces, cultural institutes and temporary exhibition programmes.

The Culturama hub therefore combines event-based discovery with permanent institution pages rather than treating contemporary art as a single venue list.

Marrakech, Rabat and Casablanca are only part of the picture

The largest art infrastructures are concentrated in a few cities, but photography, local galleries, cultural centres and interdisciplinary programmes extend the map to Tangier, Essaouira, Agadir, Fez and other places.

City links on this page help visitors move from the national topic to the local cultural ecosystem.

Use exhibition dates carefully

Some exhibitions run for weeks or months while openings, talks and performances happen at fixed times. The event page should be used for dated programming and the institution page for permanent visitor information.

This separation keeps the guide useful even as temporary programmes change.
